Hours:
Poplar Forest is open for tours from 10:00am to 4:00pm Wednesday - Monday from the first of April until the end of November, except Thanksgiving Day. Closed on Tuesdays.
The library at Poplar Forest is available for research by appointment with the Collections Manager or another staff member. The hours are 10:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Mission:
The purpose of the Corporation for Jefferson's Poplar Forest is to preserve Thomas Jefferson's retreat and to be an innovative educational catalyst inspiring insight into the past, present and future.
Operational Policy:
The library and research files at Poplar Forest focus on Thomas Jefferson, the plantation life at Poplar Forest and the history of the surrounding areas. The public may use these non-circulating materials for research in the library at Poplar Forest. Photocopy service is available for $0.10 a page.
Poplar Forest will be happy to provide answers to questions about Thomas Jefferson, local history, quotations, or other information upon request.
