Description:
The Legacy Museum, a non-profit organization, collects, preserves, and exhibits documents, artifacts, and oral histories on all aspects of local African American history and culture from the first arrival of Africans in Lynchburg until the present day. Areas of special interest include education, communications, the family, the professions, political life, the arts, the Black church, the civil rights struggle, civic and social organizations, medicine and health, business and employment, entertainment and sports.
